Valentine Tradition

The annual Holy Angels Valentine’s Party was held Friday, February 12th.  The annual celebration has a tradition that goes back generations with grandparents recalling slides down the fire escape as one of the features.

This year’s celebration had over 20 booths and games with each of the homerooms, several “special” teachers, and the Student Council sponsoring an attraction. They included: the famous Cake Walk, Fish Pond, Lollipop Tree, the ever-popular Ring-a-Can-of-Soda, Tic Tac Toe, Bingo, Plinko, and the World’s Best Valentine’s Day Raffle. Even Poker with the Principal returned again to the lineup with another amazing grand prize. The Jumping Jupiter, provided by Tennies Ace Hardware, also returned for more thrills and spills.

Throughout its history, the Valentine’s Party has provided funds for a number of missions, charities and other needs as chosen by the Student Council. This year’s event will support several organizations which  provide “works of mercy” in our community and beyond. A portion of the proceeds will also be directed to support research and patient services for breast cancer and brain cancer.
