Toga, Toga, Toga

The sixth graders at Holy Angels School just finished a unit on Ancient Greece. As part of their studies, on March 15th, they held their own Greek Olympics complete with togas, torch lighting, and medal awards ceremony. After the torch was extinguished, the students were able to feast on many different traditional Greek foods. Each sixth grader also prepared and presented an oral report on some aspect of Ancient Greece they found interesting. The topics included: Homer’s The Iliad and the Odyssey, Socrates, The Parthenon, Greek mythology, gods and goddesses, and the Ancient Olympic Games.
