Talent Shared for Others

In October, representative students from the schools in the Lumen Catholic School Alliance met for the first Catholic Leadership Forum. The junior high students were charged with developing an action plan to take to their schools. The Holy Angels team considered many options with their advisor Mary Cay Muckerheide Schmidt before deciding to sponsor a Talent Show. The show would give many other students a chance to get involved in the project and the proceeds could be used to help missionary work in Honduras. Non-perishable foods could be collected at the door for the Full Shelf Food Pantry. That was the plan.

The Fish Crew (as the group was known) nervously made all of the arrangements, lined up the talent, and open the doors to the gym for the February 17th show. The audience filled the bleachers and the talent filled the gym. A terrific family/community celebration of young talent was punctuated with thunderous applause, chuckles, and smiling faces throughout the night.
