Students Say Thanks and Goodbye

The Closing Mass for the 2007-08 school year provided an opportunity for students to say “thanks!” to many of the volunteers who have shared their time and talent with our school. A special song from the third graders and kindergartners expressed the gratitude of the entire school. Following Mass, the volunteers were treated to the annual Thanks-A-Brunch in the Walnut Room while students gathered in classrooms for report cards and goodbyes.

The recipient of the Noreen Laufer Memorial is also named at the Closing Mass and Mrs. Laufer’s son Chris was on hand to speak briefly about his mother and to present this year’s award to second grader Emma Dahlberg.

Finally, the liturgy provided an opportunity to say goodbye to Mrs. Bissell and Ms. Peck and to thank them for sharing their teaching gifts at Holy Angels. The high point of the post-Mass presentations was the presenting of cards and well-wishes to Jo Ann Busse who is retiring. Mrs. Busse taught physical education for 38.5 years and was involved in many other aspects of everyday life that had a positive impact on students and our school…Meals on Wheels, Chess Club, Jump Rope for Heart, athletics and intramurals, Olympic Day and much more.
