Students Remember 9/11

The first regular weekly Wednesday Mass fell on September 11th and the focus of the homily was on how we are called to be peacemakers in our community and in our world. Fr. Jerry reminded students of the words of Pope Paul VI, “If you want peace, work for justice”. At the Offertory, students processed with the 250-foot Peace Chain which students created as Big and Little Buddies following September 11th in 2001. Students offered all of their attempts to be peacemakers during the past year. Family contact persons brought home “The Family Piece” which offered ideas about developing a post-9/11 spirituality.
