Students Get an Eyeful

Ever wonder what’s inside your eyeball? What is it that allows us to “see” anything? The sixth grade science students had the opportunity to take a closer look inside of an eyeball as the dissected an eyeball from a cow. Teams of students had to first remove all of the surrounding fatty tissue before they could actually probe the inner parts of the eyeball. Although a few seemed a bit squeamish at first, the young scientists soon discovered that they were cut out for the activity (sorry about that!).

From the way students handled the body parts, it was clear that some had an aptitude for work in the medical field while other should probably pursue other interests!
