Sixth Grade Learns Stewardship at Camp

The sixth graders recently participated in the Environmental Stewardship Program at Camp Gray. Located near Wisconsin Dells, the camp offers a variety of habitats and activities. The students made their way through a stream (boots got a little filled with the high water levels) as they learned about the water cycle, measured trees in managed and unmanaged areas, examined pond life, and helped to combat invaders (actually invasive plant life). Of course there were opportunities for fun ‘n games, as well as prayer and reflection. At the end of the retreat, students joined their names to those of other Holy Angels students in a promise to become better stewards of God’s gifts of the environment and the earth’s resources.
