Sixth Grade Goes Greek

The sixth graders are finishing up a unit on Ancient Greece. As part of their studies, they held their own Greek Olympics complete with togas, torch lighting, and medal awards ceremony. After the torch was extinguished, they were able to feast on many different traditional Greek foods.

As a conclusion to their study of Ancient Greece, each sixth grader will be researching and presenting an oral report on some aspect of Ancient Greece. The topics include Homer’s The Iliad and The Odyssey, Aesop, Socrates, the Parthenon, Greek mythology, and the Ancient Olympic Games.
