Science Students Take on Engineering Task

As part of Project Lead the Way, sixth grade science students interviewed classmate “customers” to determined specifications for the construction of furniture.  Teams of students brainstormed ideas for meeting the customer’s needs before selecting a project goal and creating processes to build the project for the customer.

Most of the furniture pieces were chairs built to the specifications of the customer (some very strange specifications in a few cases).  Specialized tables were also ordered for specific needs.

At the conclusion of the project, the engineering teams orally described their goals and reflected on the processes selected.
