Putting Mosaic Pieces in Place

This year’s Artist in Residence program continues with students learning new artistic skills as they create a mosaic depicting the Holy Angels community.  Artist Kerry Tharp has been working with students in creating the mosaic and its border and the time has come to begin placing the hundreds of pieces which have been prepared.

Earlier, students submitted original drawings of life around Holy Angels with emphasis on this year’s school theme. The drawings were used to create the design of the mosaic which is being crafted using a variety of media. When completed, the mosaic will be hung in the stairwell leading to the main lobby of the school.

Holy Angels alum Diane (Klumb) Carlson and art teacher Cheryl Hofschulte have also been involved in the project which is planned to be unveiled for the Fine Arts evening in spring.  The Artist in Residence program is funded by the Stehling Project.
