Planting Seeds of Kindness

This year’s Student Retreat provided students with opportunities for growth during the Lenten Season. On Ash Wednesday, students began the day with Mass and Distribution of Ashes. Eighth graders prepared flower pots for each grade and provided seeds for each class to plant as a constant reminder that we are called to “Plant Seeds of Kindness”. Various activities during the morning focused on the Lenten theme.

Deacon Steve Przedpelski shared information about the Franciscan PeaceMakers with the junior high students. Teams of sixth, seventh and eighth graders spent part of the morning preparing 200 meals for the outreach meal program sponsored by the PeaceMakers in Milwaukee. The Student Retreat concluded with a reflection about the Parable of the Sower and the Seed.
