Painting the Wild West
The primary students had a special treat when Mrs. Yahr came to Holy Angels to tell us about a famous artist. She shared stories and paintings about Charlie Russell.
Here are some of the things we learned: Charlie Russell was born in 1864 in St. Louis. He had a love for the West. He created many paintings and sculptures of cowboys and the Wild West. The book, Cowboy Charlie, tells about his dream to travel west and be a painter.
