Olympic Champions of Knowledge (and Fun)

The sixth graders recently finished a unit on Ancient Greece. As part of their studies, they held their own Greek Olympics, complete with togas, torch lighting, and medal awards ceremony. After the torch was extinguished, they were able to feat on many different traditional Greek foods. Each student also researched and presented an oral report on some aspect of Ancient Greece such as Homer’s “The Iliad and the Odyssey”, Aesop, Socrates, the Parthenon, Greek Mythology, and the Ancient Olympic Games.
