Mary’s Birthday

Even if you don’t know someone by the name of Mary, you can still do what the fourth graders did on September 8th.  They celebrated the birth of Jesus’ Mother Mary by visiting the grotto on the Holy Angels grounds behind the church.  Through prayer and reflection, the students recalled Mary’s great love for Jesus and for each of us. Back in the classroom, they also enjoyed a birthday treat.

By the way, September 8th is the traditional day to celebrate Mary’s birth because it comes nine months after December 8th, the celebration of her Immaculate Conception.
