Lumen Alliance Spelling Bee

Holy Angels eighth grader Sam Cooley took second place honors in this year’s Lumen Alliance Spelling Bee. She got tripped up on the word “etymology”. The other Holy Angels participant, Aidan Schmidt, was eliminated from the final round when his got stuck with “paraphernalia” for his word.

This year’s champion was St. Boniface’s Elliot Lehman who claimed the top spot by correctly spelling “hemorrhage”.  Other schools participating in the event included: St. Katharine Drexel (Beaver Dam), St. Peter, St. Frances Cabrini. St. Mary, Holy Trinity, St. Kilian, and St. Gabriel.
