Junior High Retreat Day

The junior high concluded the 2010-11 school year by spending a day of retreat. The sixth graders visited two important locations in the Milwaukee Archdiocese. The students started the day with a tour of St. Josaphat’s Basilica. They also toured the Mother Church of the archdiocese, the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. The cathedra, or chair of the archbishop, is located in the cathedral. They then joined the faith community of Old St. Mary’s in downtown Milwaukee for noon Mass.

Seventh graders travelled to a famous and important religious site in the area, Holy Hill. They followed the Stations of the Cross from the base of the hill to the church at the top. The seventh graders also collected the prayers from our school’s Prayer Board and offered them at the Prayer Chapel. The church was recently designated as a basilica.

The TYME-OUT Center was again the location for the graduation retreat for the eighth graders. The graduates spent the day reflecting on their past years at Holy Angels and their future as they enter high school. There was time for fun, time for conversation, and time for quiet thought and pondering the really important stuff of life.
