Holy Angels Receives Honor

Holy Angels School was recognized by Archbishop Timothy Dolan at this year’s Catholic Elementary Educators’ Convention. Holy Angels received an award for Exemplary Recognition in the area of Student Services. The archbishop presented the award to level faculty representatives at the convention luncheon attended by more than 2200 educators from the archdiocese.

As part of the regular School Planning and Accreditation process, Holy Angels received not only full accreditation, but was also recognized for exemplary student service programs.

Student Services incorporates providing for the special learning needs of students, including enrichment and remediation. The coordinated efforts of classroom teachers and the Resource Learning Center staff is considered to be a model for other schools in the archdiocese. Holy Angels also meets other student needs through the efforts of a Guidance Counselor who works with individuals, small groups, or classrooms.

Extra-curricular activities are also noted in the area of providing student services. Holy Angels offers a wide variety of academic and athletic activities through the efforts of many volunteers.

Holy Angels School also held exemplary recognition in this area from 1996 until the most recently completed accreditation process. Holy Angels School and Prince of Peace (Milwaukee) are the only archdiocesan schools with Exemplary Recognition in the area of Student Services.

According to principal Mike Sternig, “Holy Angels has a long history of educating the whole person. We are thankful for the efforts of many professionals and volunteers who provide a wide range of opportunities for our students to grow.”
