Heifer Project

Recently, the junior high students at Holy Angels School supported the Heifer International Project with personal donations as part of their Advent service project.  Since 1944 Heifer International has worked to bring help, healing and hope to impoverished families worldwide.

The Holy Angels students earned the money by performing extra duties around the house, babysitting, and helping neighbors.  Donations to the Heifer Project were used to purchase animals and educate families to help them become self-reliant.  The animals provide food and/or clothing for the family and the surplus is sold in the market to pay for food, medicine and education.

Through their efforts, the students were able to provide 4 flocks of chickens, 2 hives of honeybees, 1 sheep, 2 goats and a water buffalo.
