Heifer Project Supported By Student Reading

During the Lenten Season, the intermediate grades at Holy Angels School raised $1887 for Heifer International. With this money the students were able to buy: one heifer, one goat, two sheep, three flock of chicks, a llama, tree seedlings, honeybees, a water buffalo, two pig, ducks and geese, and three groups of rabbits. These animals will help struggling families in countries throughout the world. By giving them the gift of an animal or trees the students hoped to help others move towards self-reliance. These gifts will provide them with a way to make an income and produce food for their families. The intermediate grades had a used book sale and participated in a reading program, “Read to Feed”. The students got sponsors for reading in this program and they exceeded their goal thanks to all their wonderful sponsors and students at Holy Angels who bought their gently used books.
