Grandparents Enjoy Special Day

The annual Grandparents Day at Holy Angels during Catholic Schools Week was snowed-out back in January.  Rescheduled for springtime (which still hasn’t arrived), grandparents filled classrooms and the lunchroom recently as they spent some special time with their grandchildren.

In the morning, the special guests were able to watch their grandchildren in action and were called upon to also participate in a “math-down” and trivia contest.  Grandparents also logged on some computer time and enjoyed library story time before beginning the two shifts of lunch. Students and their guests were treated to ice cream before heading back to class.  The HA Chorus provided some whimsical entertainment to close the day.

Many of the grandparents shared memories with principal Mike Sternig of being “parents” of Holy Angels students (when the principal was a junior high math teacher).  They also enjoyed getting together with friends from the past who watched each others children grow up at Holy Angels.
