Grandparents’ Day

A few years ago, the annual Grandparents Day at Holy Angels was moved from Catholic Schools Week (in January) to April so that our grandparents didn’t have to worry about traveling in bad weather.  So much for that idea as West Bend was hit with snow just in time for the multi-generational gathering on April 11th!

The weather didn’t deter our special guests as hundreds of grandparents filled the bleachers for a brief presentation and entertainment before filling classrooms for a wide range of activities. Grandparents had come from a wide range of locations and there were grandparents with six, seven, and even eight grandchildren currently at Holy Angels!

Students and their grandparents (and/or grandpals) spent the morning playing grandparent bingo, creating Easter decorations, making slime, interviewing each other, playing musical instruments, performing science experiments and many more activities.

Although the event concluded with Mass, there were many grandparents who stayed to enjoy a reunion of sorts and rekindle memories of their days as a Holy Angels student.
