Getting Ready During Advent

The primary students learned the meaning of Advent as a time for sharing and caring as well as a time for eager anticipation. The students helped the Holy Angels Leadership Team (HALT) reach out to others in need by collecting money which they earned and saved. The money which was collected was used to purchase blankets for the “Blankets for St. Ben’s” program.

St. Ben’s serves a community meal to the homeless of Milwaukee each night and sometimes serve over 300 people. Many of these same people will receive a blanket or sleeping bag to help them face the winter weather.

The first grade Brownies also reached out to area families in need by holding a Dance-a-thon. The girls raised money for a Saturday Shopping Spree…not for themselves, but to help make the Christmas Season a little brighter for others.

Gifts included items such as a stuffed bear, pajamas, a Tinkerbell puzzle, hooded pink towel, ice scraper, bath towels, and a food gift card.
