Geography Bee Challenges Students

This year’s Geography Bee questions focused on the United States in the opening rounds but the really tough questions required knowledge of island locations around the world as students battled for a spot in the finals. Coordinator Katie Schoenwetter began the annual event with a rundown of places and geographical happenings from 2005. In the end, it was a matter of knowing a little geography and a little Catholic history to identify the proper location of Pope John Paul II’s funeral. This year’s winner, Cassidy Gibbon will move on to the next level of competition in the nation-wide contest.
