Fifth Graders Join Hundreds of Graduates

The Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program began in West Bend at Holy Angels School in 1990 and since that time over 500 students have completed the program. This year’s D.A.R.E. Officer, James Frank, spent 17 weeks with the students, teaching them about drugs and peer pressure, and how to make good choices. The program culminated with the D.A.R.E. graduation where several students read their essays. Those who heard the essays were moved by the students’ resolve to avoid drugs and their knowledge of how to make the right choices when the pressure is on. The evening also included congratulations from community leaders, followed by refreshments and shirt-signing.
