Fifth Graders “Graduate” From D.A.R.E

The fifth graders recently completed the D.A.R.E. Program sponsored by the Washington County Sheriff’s Department. Over the course of several weeks, the students learned many coping skills to resist pressure from others to experiment with drugs. The also learned some basic information about the effects of drugs on the human body. The students wrote reflective essay at the close of the program and the celebrated a “graduation” together. Students signed each other’s D.A.R.E. shirts as a sign of supporting each of in resisting drugs.
