ESP For Sixth Graders

The students in sixth grade travel to Camp Gray each year to participate in the Environmental Stewardship Program. Located near The Dells, the camp offers an outdoor experience where participants learn about protecting the environment while discovering God’s many gifts in nature. The sixth graders also had opportunities for activities of interest during “choice time” (almost like kindergarten, but much better!).

Students discovered the effect of invasive species, found microscopic life forms in the wetland swamp, trudged through a stream, and learned about the differences between managed and unmanaged woodlands.

Many thanks to volunteers Joseph Heit, Ted Casper and Tom Busse, who joined teachers Katie Schoenwetter and Dana Barribeau for the overnight camp experience.
