Earth Day Celebrate Adopt-a-Trail

Holy Angels students celebrated Earth Day by joining the Adopt-A-Trail program for the Eisenbahn Trail. The trail has replaced the railroad tracks which used to run through the middle of the city. Today, the popular trail is regularly filled with joggers, walkers, bikers, and roller bladers. As part of our service to others, Holy Angels will be helping to keep part of the trail neat and clean. Older students will also help with controlling invasive species in the right-of-way.

On Earth Day, students toured the trail and noted areas in need of upkeep while walking the mile-long section.. The portion of the trail from Washington Street on the north to Decorah Street on the south features varied terrain and an old trestle over the Milwaukee River.

The West Bend Depot will be renovated to include offices and rest rooms and is also located on the HA portion of the trail.

Back at school, the largest snowpile in memory has finally melted and eighth graders helped to clean up the debris that was left on the playground. A steady rainfall completed the task and the playground was again safe for play (and running on the track during phy ed!).
