Buddies Journey Together

The Big and Little Buddies journeyed into nature during the annual Big/Little Buddies Field Trip.  Groups of buddies traveled to the Shalom Wildlife Sanctuary which is just northeast of West Bend.  While at Shalom, the students learned about a wide variety of wildlife and efforts that the center made to treat and protect them.

The students enjoyed hearing about the origins of the hundreds of antlers on display in the center’s gathering area, as well as stories about several different smaller animals.  From there, the buddies were able to see goats and sheep, emu and more as they walked along the petting area.  Aboard the wagon, students listened attentively to facinating stories about bobcats, bison, elk and deer, and wolves as they viewed the animals during their ride through the natural setting.

The Big/Little Buddies event is an opportunity for older and younger students to share a special time together in addition to regular get-togethers during the year.  Many thanks to several bus sponsors who helped provide transportation for this year’s field trip.
