Big/Little Buddies Enjoy Day Together

The annual Big/Little Buddies field trip brought busloads of students to the Pleasure Valley Farm for a day together. Beginning in the corn maze, the buddies found their way through the many paths by correctly answering questions (and getting lost a few times). From there, students gathered the products of farms, fields and orchards in baskets as they learned of the bounty provided by God.

A trip to the pumpkin field gave everyone the chance to pick out a pumpkin (if only they could’ve carried that REALLY big one!) to take home. Thankfully, the buddies were able to ride a hay wagon back to the bus with their selection. The highlight for many was the Pig Stadium as students cheered their favorite pig to victory (and an Oreo cookie!).

The event was an opportunity to really see this year’s theme: Put Yourself in the Hands of God. With the warm weather and full fall colors, it was easy to see the hand of God in all of creation. It was also easy to see Big Buddies being the hand of God for others as the students walked hand-in-hand throughout the day.

Many thanks to our bus sponsors for helping to make the event possible: Tennies Ace Hardware, Peter & Sue German, Chris & Carrie Guse, and Mark & Beth Bensen.
