An Island of Treasures

Well, “Shiver me Timbers”… Treasure Island came to Holy Angels in the form of the Spring Performance. The lead roles and story characters featured members o the seventh grade class. Long John Silver (played by Peter Steiner), Jim Hawkins (Nate Fischer) and all of their friends (and enemies) cavorted about the two stages in a musical adaptation of the Robert Louis Stevenson classic.

Concertgoers heard sea shanties, calypso pieces, and some memorable sailor songs. Some of the audience even picked up on the strange Pig-Latin-speaking dialect of the Pigaloo tribe and their chief. The rollicking reprise had the audience joining in on some favorite pirate grunts, groans and, of course, the ever-favorite “A-r-r-r-r-r-r-r!”

The Treasure Island Cafe offered refreshments before and after the performance and featured cast members as well as members of the Holy Angels Band.
