All-HA 8th Grade Volleyball Title Match

The 9th annual Holy Angels Volleyball Classic featured two intramural championship matches as Cabrini-White and Cabrini-Green faced each other in the 7th grade championship on Saturday. In the 8th grade championship, Holy Angels-White met Holy Angels-Blue. It was the third time in two weeks that the two Holy Angels squads faced each other in a tournament championship matchup.

To reach the 7th grade finals, Cabrini-White defeated Holy Trinity, 25-8, 25-21, 10-15, and came back to beat Holy Angels-Blue in three games, 17-25, 25-22, 15-10. Cabrini-Green was victorious over St. Francis Borgia, 25-23, 25-10, 15-9, and edged Holy Angels-White, 10-25, 25-23, 15-13. In the championship match, Cabrini-White came back from a first game loss to win the match 21-25, 27-25, 15-7.

Holy Angels-White advanced to the 8th grade championship by defeating St. Francis Borgia, 25-20, 25-6, 15-9, and Cabrini, 25-11, 25-17, 12-15. Holy Angels-Blue handled Holy Trinity 25-5, 25-15, 15-8, and St. Kilian, 25-15, 25-22, 15-6, to reach the finals. In the final match of the tournament, Holy Angels-Blue captured this year’s title by defeating Holy Angels-White, 25-16, 25-23, 5-15.

The final standings for the 2005 Holy Angels Volleyball Classic:

7th grade: 1st – Cabrini-White; 2nd – Cabrini-Green; 3rd – Holy Angels-White; 4th – St. Kilian; 5th – Holy Angels-Blue; 6th – St. Francis Borgia; 7th – Holy Trinity; 8th – St. Anthony.

8th grade: 1st – Holy Angels-Blue; 2nd – Holy Angels-White; 3rd – St. Frances Cabrini; 4th – St. Mary-MF; 5th – St. Kilian; 6th – First Immanuel; 7th – St. Francis Borgia; 8th – Holy Trinity.
