6th Grade Time Travelers

The sixth grade social studies classes have been studying different eras in human history which affect us even today.  Earlier in the year, they studies the ancient Greek and Egyptian cultures. Most recently, they traveled to the time of the Middle Ages. The “Greek Olympics” provided many unique events which were loosely (at best) tied to those of the early Olympics.

The students took on the roles of many figures important in the time of the Middle Ages. In addition to the king, queen and their court, the clergy held an influential place in the culture. Of course, entertainment by the court jester was something that was enjoyed by all, including the peasants. Knights provided the necessary protection from outsiders.
